Rock Band Stops Traffic on L.A. Freeway To Throw Concert

As if the traffic wasn’t bad enough on the 101 freeway in Los Angeles, Tuesday a rock/rap band by the name of “Imperial Stars” took to the roof of their giant moving truck to perform an impromptu live concert — in the middle of the freeway!

The Los Angeles Times reported that:

“California Highway Patrol dispatchers said they first learned about the disruption from a 911 caller who reported “a concert going on on a truck on the freeway.” The band had blocked the freeway with their truck, and members of the group were standing on top of it, playing music, authorities said.”

On the band’s website they claim their are “committed to benefiting the displaced children of America through the voice of music.”

On the YouTube page for their official music video for the single “Traffic Jam 101″, they utilized the tags, “news, stunt, arrested, cbs, nbc, fox, cnn” and more, cleary indicating the group had planned this publicity stunt for some time and are hoping to reap the rewards in exposure and online views. And it’s working so far.
