Bruno Mars Drags A Piano Through L.A. In New Music Video for “Grenade” [VIDEO]
Bruno Mars displays the darker side of love in the just released music video “Grenade,” off his debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans. In the video, Bruno carries the weight of a piano through the streets of L.A. in his attempt to display what he’ll do for his love. With depictions of rain falling, a broken photo frame, a priest, and concluding with a suggestedly morbid scene on train tracks, the video serves justice to the song that rocketed to the top of multiple charts.
Mars explained in an interview the song is “about loving someone so deeply, and the pain of knowing that the person you love does not feel the same.” Yet the singer also cautions “the actions in this video serve as a metaphor, and should not be taken literally. I am aware of the power of visual media, and I encourage everyone who watches this video to understand that it is an artistic interpretation of the song, and not something to imitate.”
