Rumored Rivals Christina Aguilera and Pink Exchange Pregnancy Advice [AUDIO]
After years of rumors and speculation that headstrong songstresses Christina Aguilera and Pink don’t see eye to eye, the ladies joined “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” Friday together when their interviews overlapped.
In the impromptu conversation between the new mom and mom-to-be, Aguilera joked about having play dates with Pink’s new baby — a comment Pink quickly laughed off, possibly suggesting that this widely reported feud is all very real.
Reports claim the longstanding rivalry began back in 2001 when the two were tapped for the hugely popular cover of “Lady Marmalade” from the soundtrack of movie musical Moulin Rouge. Allegedly, during a meeting for the song, Aguilera’s manager insisted she have the biggest part, without discussing it with any of the other girls including Lil’ Kim, Mya and Pink. It’s rumored that this infuriated Pink and her management, thus kicking off a poor working relationship that was only worsened years later after a battle over the rights to perform the song “Beautiful” which Aguilera won.
Despite the alleged bad blood, Aguilera wished Pink congratulations on her pregnancy, telling her to “join the club!”
“You are the two most fun moms in the world I would imagine,” said Ryan in the interview. “Lucky babies,” Pink responded. “A little luckier than we were.” Both singers endured torturous childhoods, Aguilera dealing with a physically and emotionally abusive father, and Pink engaging in heavy teenage drug use.
You can catch Aguilera in her feature film debut on November 24 in “Burlesque,” and be sure to pick up Pink’s new album “Greatest Hits…So Far!!!” in stores now.
