Did Mariah Carey Sing the #1 Christmas Song of All Time? Mariah Weighs In [AUDIO]
Singer and soon-to-be mom Mariah Carey joined “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” Thursday to chat about her new Christmas album Merry Christmas II You and her recently-revealed pregnancy.
Mariah explained the pleasure and happiness of creating this album and what it means to people out there. After writing “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, which became the biggest holiday song of the decade and arguable of all time, Mariah returned to regain a much anticipated number one spot on the holiday countdown this year.
“Watching people grow and to feel like that was their holiday anthem, making the sequel Merry Christmas II You became a quest to try to live up to the first one,” explained Carey.
Carey shared with Ryan that husband Nick Cannon has been discussing the controversy of Santa Claus and what they should tell the baby.
“He starts trying to whisper to my tummy saying ‘there’s no Santa’” said Carey to which she would respond, “You can’t be with the most festive woman on earth and [talk like that].”
Mariah Carey’s new album Merry Christmas II You is available now and be sure to catch hey performing at the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade on Christmas morning on ABC.
