Long-Delayed Diddy Album Makes Triumphant Debut [AUDIO]
Hip hop mogul Diddy joined “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” Tuesday to talk about his new album, Last Train to Paris which after many delays, finally hit stores and iTunes today. The album, which took the rapper-turned-businessman three years to create, has been getting excellent reviews from publications such as Vogue and the New York Post.
“I’m not usually into reviews, but I’ll take them!” said Diddy over the phone. When Ryan asked why it took him three years to come out with a new album, Diddy explained that this album is “such a personal album… when you are talking about something that’s personal, when it’s bigger than a record, you want to make sure it’s right.”
Diddy then told Ryan that this album is not only a way to “refresh” the way he is represented as an artist, but it is also about “love.”
“Not the sappy side of love,” Diddy explained “The dangerous, edgy side of love.”
When Ryan asked how he managed to get fashion icons such as Anna Wintour and Marc Jacobs to endorse the album, Diddy said all it took was one listen and them were in!
“To be honest, I just sent them the album, and they wanted to endorse the album,” he said. When Ryan asked how the man who seems to do everything manages to balance everything, he told him, “I have a great team of people around me,” and that he takes weekends and between shoots to spend time with his children. The rapper then reiterated that he isn’t doing this for the money because music is his passion. “I’m doing it because I love it,” he told Ryan.
