It was just a year and a half ago that Beastie Boys‘ member Adam Yauch, better known at MCA, was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in a salivary gland. Yesterday, Mike D. revealed to BBC news that Yauch has won his battle against cancer and the group is back on track to release part two of a new double album in Spring 2011. As for part one of the album titled Hot Sauce Committee, “It’s still delayed,” explained Mike D.

He told BBC that Yauch’s good bill of health from doctors was “a good thing” and that “we’re really happy about it.”

Touring in 2011 is still up in the air though, as Mike D. explained “we’re still going to have to see how [Yauch] doing.”
