‘Idol’ Alum Constantine Maroulis On Tom Cruise’s Role In ‘Rock of Ages’ Movie [AUDIO]
Former “American Idol” finalist and Broadway star Constantine Maroulis dropped by “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” Friday to talk about the Los Angeles leg of “Rock of Ages” and the forthcoming big screen adaptation with a cast including stars like Tom Cruise and Alec Baldwin.
Constantine described opening night in Los Angeles to be nerve-racking, as the LA crowd tends to be a bit tougher than the others. And among that crowd was non other than Tom Cruise himself, causing Constantine to feel “a total inspiration,” where he wasn’t able to look at him in the audience “until the end of the show,” admitting “he just stands out in a crowd.”
Constantine further shared “we met him afterwards, he stayed for over an hour taking pictures with everyone…talking to me personally-we talked about kids, about everything…we got to meet Katie too!”
The former Idol contestant and Tom Cruise fan weighed in on Tom’s role in the upcoming adaptation saying “he’s playing Stacee Jax” and in prep “he’s taking singing lessons and everything.”
As far as what playing Stacee Jaxx entails, Maroulis let on he’ll “play it where he’s been touring with Arsenal for awhile, and wants to go solo,” adding “he sleeps with everyone” and “wears tight white pants.”
