Simon Cowell Confirms Rumor He Imported Beer To Barbados for Vacation [AUDIO]
Brutally honest former ‘American Idol’ judge Simon Cowell phoned in Friday morning to chat “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” about releasing upcoming auditions for show “X Factor” in America as well as revealed to us the truth behind bringing 30 crates of his favorite beer overseas on vacay…!
Simon divulged “X Factor,” the UK version of “American Idol,” will “kick off auditions in Los Angeles March 27th” and added incentive as the “winner gets $5 million dollars cash.” No doubt a “generous” amount, Simon admitted “if I can make people rich through the process, I think I can give something back to the community.”
Speaking of rich…as Ellen K. brought up rumored story of Simon himself having to cough up some cash to customs when traveling to Barbados recently, Simon light heartedly admitted about traveling with Saporro, his favorite yeast feer beer, that “I did get stopped, I don’t know why we do it, we had 30 crates of beer with us, and we could have gotten it locally.” Adding, “[customs] said ‘do you have anything to declare?’ and we said ‘yeah, we have these’ and it was like 600 bottles of beer and she had one of those calculators that takes forever to work it out-I think the duty was worth more than the beer!”
While Simon clearly knows how to get his favorite beer around the world, he’s yet to conquer finding a host for “X Factor” as he admitted, “honestly we don’t know yet.” Yet, Simon does believe “trying to find a host is the easiest part…because have a lot of choice in America and great people are available.”
Stay tuned to find out who will be the host of “X Factor”, which is set to air September 2011 on Fox. To get deets on America auditions and more, visit http://www.x-factor-america.com/
