‘Glee”s Coach Beiste a.k.a. Dot-Marie Jones Says Role Was ‘Written For Me’ [AUDIO]
“Glee”‘s Coach Beast aka Dot-Marie Jones joined us in studio Tuesday, after executive radio producer Dennis Clark declared his desire to have Dot on the show at the “American Idol” Top 13 party…before he got kicked out that is! Dot relived her exchange with Dennis, how she got the role of Coach Beiste on “Glee,” and more!
Dot described her first encounter with Dennis saying, “I was walking out and all i hear is ‘Oh my god! I love you on your show!’”
As to that show, Fox’s hit “Glee,” Dot talked tonight’s episode which “is our ‘Sexy’ episode where Gwyneth Paltrow is the teacher.” Dot reveals working with Gwyneth as “she’s wonderful she’s really cool she’s just like kicked back”
Dot revealed she got the role of Coach Beiste in the aisle of Whole Foods to be exact, revealing “‘Glee’ was actually written for me, I ran into Brad Falchuck at Whole Foods and I hadn’t seen him since the pilot ['Pretty Handsome'] and he said him and Ryan were finishing up the season for ‘Glee’ and I said write me in and…couple weeks later my agent called.”
Dot then joked, similarily, “I saw Dennis Friday night and I said I love Ryan I want be on the show.”
