Interscope chairmen and season 10 “American Idol” mentor Jimmy Iovine phoned in to chat on “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” about the season 10 top 13 finalists contestants and offered us his insight on the overall talent.

When asked if the contestants are nervous around him, Jimmy admitted, “Sometimes. Sometimes artists ask me to stay back stage …[but] I don’t think so, I think they get encouraged…they feel the support.” Iovine also divulged about his excitement of the talent describing tonight’s episode as “felt like an award show,” confidently adding, “this is an album, we’re going to release the songs from the top 13 right away.”

Iovine also offered his opinion on Wednesday’s performances like Casey Abram’s, revealing “Casey murdered it, his thing is physical, I love people that when they sing, their body and their voice goes…he’s so [unique] he’s very new, yet he’s a throwback as well-he’s got some Bob Seger and Joe Crocker.”

And as for Naima Adedapo: “people like her can be on the show [because] these judges have done an extraordinary job of going through thousands of singers and in the past they looked for like karaoke singers and here they have real potentional. Im so proud of the judges”
