For one lucky group of Dunwoody High School students, a dream Hollywood vacation was only one phone call away. Coordinated by Ryan Seacrest and his high school friend and current Assistant Principal Tom McFerrin, a class flew to Los Angeles this week, all expense paid, to visit the “American Idol” and get a backstage access to meet the notable alum himself along with judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson, and Steven Tyler. This trip is apart of a series of initiatives that Dunwoody High School is taking up in order to create a state-of-the-art mass media program at the Georgia high school.

The group watched the show’s rehearsals for the top 12’s performance night. Along with the visit to ‘Idol’, mass media teacher Jack Reynolds has also planned a series of other visits to some special locations and tapings in Los Angeles. Some students have speculated that one of their visits could be on the set of “Glee.”

With such a great news, this incredible opportunity has left many of the students sleepless with excitement for the wonders that lie in Hollywood.
