On Tuesday, E! reality star and Los Angeles Lakers Forward Lamar Odom was bestowed with the honor and title of NBA’s Sixth Man of The Year.

The Sixth Man Award, started in the 1982-1983 NBA season, is given to the league’s MVP for his team as a substitute. Since it began, there have been 25 recipients – with 31-year-old Odom being the first to receive it on the Lakers.

The prestige of this award lies in the panel who selects the winner, which is made up of sport broadcasters and writers from both the United States and Canada.

While playing all 82 regular-season games, Odom averaged 14.4 points and 8.7 rebounds. He shot a career-best 53%, started 35 games.

Wife and reality star Khloé Kardashian congratulated him on this momentous achievement on Twitter.
