Singer-songwriter and former “American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi stopped by the studio Wednesday to discuss her new book entitled, A Helluva High Note: Surviving Life, Love, and American Idol, as well as admitted yes, she peed her pants bikini on live television, and even how she met her bee-keeping husband Mike McCuddy.

As for peeing during her well-remembered bikini performance on the season 8 “American Idol” finale (no we were not kidding), Kara explains, “it was live TV, and first of all I didn’t even want to go to the beach in my bikini let alone in front of 25 million people,” adding, “I hadn’t eaten for like a week. They were like ‘we’ll give you money for your charity,’ so then I had to do it.” Kara furthers, “so my manager was smart enough to say, ‘honey you ain’t wearing a white bikini, you’re wearing a black one cause I know you’re going to tinkle in it-you have that nervous thing;’ so I totally did…it wasn’t a full on puddle it was just like a little…like a could’ve used a depends under garmet right there.”

Along with revealing that she peed her bikini on stage, Kara also confided in us how she met her husband, Mike. Kara explains the short-hand story as, “I bought a house in Maine with some friends of mine and someone built a house right next to it and never told me so I arrived there one summer and was like, ‘whoa my property just devauled like 40%, thank you very much,’ but he’s on the roof and he’s kind of hot and that was my husband he was the contractor …we came to California, built a house in Studio City and one day I was looking outside and I was like ‘what the hell is that? Is that a virus infestation?’ and it’s my husband in a bee suit and he’s like harvesting bees.” Take a look at the pic below for evidence!

Clearly Kara is not one to withhold information, which is also evident in her new book, A Helluva High Note: Surviving Life, Love, and American Idol, which she describes as “giving people a back story [to the songs she's written and more]” as well as an opportunity to, “show people that you can go through it and be better on the other side of it” as she admits, “there were some things I went through that were really tough.”
