“Fast and the Furious” franchise star Vin Diesel chatted on “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” Wednesday regarding his upcoming flick “Fast Five,” how developed his massive Facebook page, and the confirmation of a sixth “Fast” film.
Vin runs one of the most successful celebrity Facebook pages around, boasting a whopping 22 million fans, more than the pages of popular franchises like “Twilight” and Starbucks.
“In 2009, [Facebook] would want me to come to the headquarters and give seminars and tell them what my secret was,” said Vin over the phone. “All I would do was speak honestly to this group of people that I deemed as intimate and I guess led with positivity and with love. I guess the Facebook world appreciated that and they feel like they’re geting something honest.”
Vin added, “I’m usually a lot more shy and I move away from the press…and then when this page started it was an opportunity to talk to people in a comfortable environment which is the success of the page…it’s a multicultural non-judgmental sanctuary.”
With all those fans on his Facebook it’s only appropriate there be a demand for yet another installment of the “Fast and the Furious” franchise, which with upcoming “Fast Five” out April 29, Vin confirms there to be a sixth to follow. Explaining, “when I did the ‘Toyko Drift’ cameo and the studio invited me to come on for producer we had talked about 3 installments, so “Fast Six” would be the last of this trilogy.”
