Not a moment too soon, Beyoncé‘s first single from her highly-anticipated fourth solo album has been officially released to radio and iTunes, and the song is definitely something for the ladies to get amped about.

“Run The World (Girl)” was produced by Switch, the guy behind Jamaican artists such as Vybz Kartel and Elephant Man, and samples his Major Lazer track, “Pon De Floor.” The song delivers Beyoncé’s signature sound, complete with a club banger beat and infectious lyrics written by The Dream and Beyoncé herself.

Director Francis Lawrence, the man behind Lady Gaga‘s famed “Bad Romance” video, spoke to MTV News recently about directing the video for “Girls.”

“It’ll be big, it’ll probably be one of the bigger Beyoncé music videos ever done,” said Francis at the “Water for Elephants” premiere. “And, I can say that I think the song is unbelievable.”
