One of the most highly-anticipated music videos of the year has finally arrived! Lady Gaga‘s controversial “Judas” video is now available to the world’s eyes hours before making its broadcast premiere on “E! News” Thursday night.

In the video, Mother Monster is seen racing down an L.A. freeway with her motorcycle gang, portraying Mary Magdalene in a leather jacket and headband with “Boondock’s Saints” star Norman Reedus playing Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus and betrayed Jesus into the hands of the chief priests according to the New Testament.

Lady Gaga co-directed the video along with creative director and “The Dance Scene” star Laurieann Gibson, the video features knock-out dance moves and controversial images.

“I don’t view the video as a religious statement,” she told E!’s Giuliana Rancic in an accompanying interview. “I view it as social statement. I view it as a cultural statement.”

Gaga has recently fielded criticism from the Catholic community, who are reportedly in arms about the lyrics and message of the song.

“It’s a metaphor,” said Gaga. “It’s not meant to be a biblical lesson”
