Nicole Scherzinger called into “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” Monday to chat about her recent collaborating with Steven Tyler on his most recent solo single and video for “(It) Feels So Good,” her inspiration behind her soon to be released album “Killer Love,” as well as hosting the highly anticipated singing contest “X-Factor” due out this fall.

Nicole will be hosting “X-Factor” this fall and and reflects on the process to hosting, “Obviously, I met Simon when I was guest judging for the UK “X-Factor.” So we’ve been talking about it since last year. I’m new to it hosting, and I’m no Ryan Seacrest. But I’m going to be the non-traditional host. I’m going to be the artist ambassador for all the contestants!”

Nicole recounts how she ended working with Steven Tyler saying, “I was doing the commercial spot for the NBA playoffs finals, and I covered Led Zepplin’s “Black Dog” with Jason Bonhan, [son of legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham] and I was in the studio recording with the producer Marty [Frederiksen] who was working with Steven [Tyler] at the time. Not only was I really nervous in front of Jason to re-record “Black Dog,” but I had Steven Tyler there watching me the entire time. He’s the coolest human ever, and The truest rock star. He said he wanted to sing backgrounds on this. He ended up singing backups on my ‘Black Dog,’ and he asked me to sing on his song. That’s how it was. In two weeks.”

Nicole continues on to discuss the direction of her first solo album and details who she is working with saying, “It has empowering dance tracks. Did alot of it with Red One. Then I got songs with Neo, I’ve got a collaboration with Snoop Dogg on it.” How does it differ from her previous musical ventures with The Pussycat Dolls? “I get to show different styles of music, because it shows different sides of my personality. I love the album. Its an empowering album. The songs I wrote or chose all has to do with my own experience which is from having love, and having lost love.”
