Chelsea Kane & Hines Ward Talk ‘DWTS’ Finale Strategies [AUDIO]
“Dancing With The Stars” finalists Chelsea Kane and NFL Steeler Hines Ward phoned in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” Monday to chat about tomorrow night’s finale of the hit show and their strategies to win.
Disney star Chelsea Kane shares, “I’m sitting in the rehearsal studio right now, we’re working on our freestyle and I think with Mark [Ballas] and I we’re just going to kind of give it everything we possibly have left.”
Whereas Hines admits, after the dancing scare with partner Kym Johnson last week, “the only trick I have is to not drop Kym on her head again.” Adding, “if I go out there and make sure I don’t drop Kym, hopefully we can nail our routine.”
As for if the incident has affected Hines’ game? He admits, “no…I feel comfortable if I’m like lifting her in the air because I have pretty good hands, but that incdicent when she got hurt, her whole body was on the ground already and all my weight just came on her neck so replaying that in my mind is a sick feeling. But I feel at ease now cause I feel like I have a little more control rather than her being underneath me.”
Aside from their strategies for the finale, Chelsea comments that her growth from now to her initial semi-unknown status has, “been the most amazing part of the process.” Confessing, “when I first signed onto the show, I just asked Mark, ‘please don’t let me be the first one to be voted off’ — that was my only goal. I knew coming in to it I was kind of unknown…Disney is a pretty specific demographic and so I was worried I’d be flying under the radar, Hines is Superbowl MVP and Kirstie [Alley] has Golden Globes and Emmys to her name and then there’s me!”
