Randy Jackson & Steven Tyler Reveal Who They Think Will Win ‘Idol’ [AUDIO]
Judges Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler joined Ryan and Ellen K. in the temporary backstage “American Idol” studio to discuss “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” last night’s part one of the season 10 finale.
Being Steven’s first time in the judges chair this season, he offered his thoughts on his first ever ‘Idol’ finale as, “Oh god, it’s like — Lauren Alaina, I did a star like this and circled it the very first time out and I said she’s going to be the one.” Adding, “when I first heard her sing and open her mouth I thought she was great.”
Randy chimes in, adding to the praise, “when we saw her in Nashville we all thought this girl could go on to win it.” Yet, not forgetting Scotty McCreery, Randy furthers, “Lauren and Scotty, all of us said, these two could come down to the wire and be in the finale. So I’m actually kind of happy about that.” So as for who they then think will be crowned tonight as America’s next Idol? Tyler simply answers, “Lauren Alaina” whereas Randy says, “I’m going to say Scotty.”
Aside from the winner being decided tonight, Randy also reveals, “they wanted me and Steven to do some stuff.” As for if they’ll be doing ‘some stuff,’ particularly if Steven will be performing on tonight’s finale show, he merely responds in lyric– “lately every time I look in the mirror these damn lines on my face are getting clearer, you know Ryan, the past is gone.”
