Especially after the judges picked me to win. Every time they would do that the other person would win. But Scotty deserves it!”
Lauren went on to discuss her experience with Beyonce saying, “She is one of the most uplifting persons I’ve ever met! I was going to sing with her, but I didn’t have time to learn the dance so I wasn’t in the number. But she said that I was amazing, and that I was going to have a great career. She was proud of me!”
Regarding taking the stage alongside her personal country icon, Carrie Underwood Lauren emphatically gushed, “In case anyone here doesn’t know I got to sing with Carrie Underwood! She’s so cool! When I ran into her [backstage] I started crying like a little kid. She is so beautiful and talented.”
The runner-up was then questioned regarding her friendship with American Idol winner Scotty McCreery. She shyly confides she is attracted to Scotty, and he is her type. However when asked if they are dating she sidesteps by saying, “we watch some movies together. We watched ‘The Crazies,’ and it was very romantic.”
When questioned regarding their budding romance Scotty was purposely coy stating, “Are we [dating]? Why hasn’t anybody told me?” When pressed further regarding their “romantic” movie nights Scotty alludes saying, “My goodness, ['The Crazies'] was one scary movie.” Lauren continued to detail the date night saying, “I was practically hiding my face, and Scotty was all like, ‘Its okay Lauren, Its okay. Its only a movie.’

Once alone with the American Idol, Scotty reflected on the evenings events. “It was all a blure. My mom looked at me, and said ‘ I hope you still enjoy this 10 or 20 years down the road and you don’t regret it. I said, “Mom are you kidding me? This is what I was destined to do!” Scotty reflected upon what may have been the hardest part on Idol, “Staying sane. I was lonely. i missed my boys, my blue crew back at home. Its just been tough being away from home for this long.”
When asked about performing with country superstar Tim Mcgraw Scotty says, “He is a living legend…He was like my country dad. We were in their rehearsing, and he would say, ‘Stop, and lets rehearse this real quick.’ He’s a great guy.”
