Hugh Hefner’s Runaway Bride Crystal Harris Says His Lifestyle Wasn’t For Her [AUDIO]
Just a day after the shocking news surfaced that Hugh Hufner‘s bride-to-be Crystal Harris had called off the wedding five days before tying the knot, Crystal joined “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” first to explain why she broke it off with the Playboy mogul.
TMZ broke the news yesterday that Crystal, 25, and Hef, 85, had called off the lavish Playboy Mansion wedding that was scheduled for this Saturday, leading Crystal to quickly move out of the famous estate. It was initially reported that the couple had a “nasty argument” over the phone which led to the split, but Crystal put those rumors to rest in her interview with Ryan.
“It was mutual between Hef and I,” said Crystal, who has been dating Hef nearly two-and-a-half years. “There was no fight, we sat down and we talked about it.”
Crystal expanded on what led her to make the shocking decision, citing that “for a while I’ve been having second thoughts about everything. I haven’t really been at peace with myself lately. I didn’t think it was really fair to him.” The rapid pace of the wedding planning had proved too much for Crystal, revealing that Playboy was shooting a wedding special set to air on an unknown channel.
Hef, who has been married twice before, took the news in stride according to Crystal who said, “he was doing it for me because he thought it was what I wanted.” Unbeknownst to him, his grand lifestyle wasn’t meshing with Crystal’s idea of what her future would look like.
“Hef’s lifestyle isn’t the most normal lifestyle,” said Crystal. “Multiple girls all around, it’s not the lifestyle I wanted.”
In addition to squashing rumors that she broke it off because she was seeing someone else, Crystal said that she thinks Hef won’t ever get married again saying, “He was just doing this wedding for me.”
In what many are calling a little more than a coincidence, Crystal also released her debut song “Club Queen” yesterday, part of her budding singing career that will produce a full album later this year. Since leaving the Playboy Mansion, the singer/songwriter will now bounce back and forth between living with her family in San Diego, and shacking up in LA where she will continue to work on new music.
