In the wake of “Green Lantern” dominating box offices last weekend, no one can escape the emerald excitement, especially “Late Night” host Jimmy Fallon. The funny man recently got serious about the addition of avocados to Subway restaurants nationwide, a change that was introduced to give customers healthier topping choices. This comes just month after the chain cut sodium in their sandwiches by 15%.

Sounding like a cross between Randy “Macho Man” Savage and Charlie Sheen, Jimmy enthusiastically talks about avocados and the variety of meals you can eat them with.

“Subway’s putting avocado on any sandwich you want,” said Jimmy looking straight into the camera and punching the air. “Breakfast [punch], lunch[punch], din [punch] — avocado punch!”

Packed with what nutritionists call “good fat,” avocados’ mono-unsaturated fats help to reduce blood pressure, diabetes and LDL cholesterol levels making avocado an ideal addition to traditional sandwiches.

“It’s very good news nutritionally if you’re substituting avocado for mayo,” dietitian Hope Warshaw told USA Today.

Apparently, Jimmy’s avocado rant had quite the effect on his viewers as proven by the following tweet from Trevor Lindley in Wamego, Kansas.
