Cat Deeley Reveals Details of Her ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ 4th of July BBQ [AUDIO]
Right now millions of Americans are barbequing to mark the 4th of July, the day we declared our independence from England.
But that doesn’t stop Cat Deeley, the British host of “So You Think You Can Dance” from joining in on the fun and throwing a big backyard party every year.
Cat revealed to us it’s more than a BBQ, it’s also a way to spend quality time with all the “So You Think You Can Dance” contestants before they get eliminated.
“”I actually get very attached to the dancers, and so the way I have learned to deal with it is, I hold a 4th of July barbeque at my house. Where we do hamburgers and hot dogs and everybody swims in the pool. It generally ends up in a bit of a dance off.”
Season 8 of America’s favorite summer dance series, has kept viewers awestruck and glued to their television as talented dancers skilled in everything from hip hop to ballroom compete to be named America’s Favorite Dancer.
This week the top 14 will take the stage to compete for America’s votes! Dancers hope to blow away the judges with their impressive moves in order to remain in the race to be America’s favorite dancer.
Two more from the top 14 will be eliminated from the competition. Find out who is safe and who will be sent home. This season marks the first time that the public will be able to cast their votes online, in addition to calling.
Another new twist to the show this season is celebrity guest judges. Celebrity guest judges are being featured to critique the performances, as well as offer advice based on personal experiences in the business mixed with fun and wit. Debbie Reynolds, Megan Mullally and Kristin Chenoweth have sat at the judges table so far.
This week Carmen Electra is scheduled to be the guest judge, and it has also been reported that Lady Gaga will also fill this seat later in the season.
“So You Think You Can Dance” airs Wednesday and Thursday at 8/7c on FOX.
