‘Glee’ Cast Talk Kissing Co-stars & Being In Beckham Family Portrait [AUDIO]
Glee superstars Kevin McHale and Ashley Fink joined On-Air with Ryan Seacrest this morning to squash rumors regarding the graduating members of Glee, their new 3-D movie, David Beckham, and the chemistry between the cast members.
After creator Ryan Murphy announced that fan favorites Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, and Chris Colfer would be graduating high school in the next season of Glee, Gleeks were up in arms. These singing sensations had made an indelible mark on the Glee season and many viewers couldn’t imagine a show without them. While Ashley was as out of the know as we were, Kevin offered some reassuring information. “Brad Falchuk, one of the creators of the show, was just saying that because some people are graduating doesn’t mean they’re leaving the show. So that’s where the confusion was. I think it all got blown out of proportion. From the very beginning, we knew we’re not going to be forty-year-olds playing high school students. You have to graduate at some point.”
Ashley added that it’s a “natural progression. Glee is very real to life. Ryan’s excited, he’s a creator so that’s exactly what he’s doing. He’s got all these ideas and that’s just one idea that he was talking about that everyone got attached to and it kind of became an explosion.” What a relief! We were so bummed to hear that we may never get to listen their pretty voices on the show again.
Finally, we couldn’t leave questions about romance at bay. A Twitter follower asked Kevin what it was like to kiss Heather Morris (don’t lie, you were wondering, too!) The gorgeous blonde has nestled her way into the hearts of many Gleek fans, so we have to wonder, does Kevin feel anything towards the bombshell? On kissing her, he said, “It’s great! My brother asks me the same thing!” When asked if he feels any “tingle” during the on screen act of passion, he shyly replied “I feel tingles in all sorts of places!” Could there be a blossoming real-life romance between Kevin and Heather? They’d make a great couple!
As most of us know, the Teen Choice Awards were last night. While the Glee cast was stoked to be there for their nine nominations, Kevin and Ashley were more psyched to run into soccer star David Beckham. They were thrilled when he asked to take a picture of his kids with the music moguls! Ashley told us it was “the prettiest family portrait she’s ever been apart of.”
Kevin and Ashley expressed what they hope their characters will do on this upcoming season of Glee. Kevin confessed his desire for his character Artie to get a girlfriend: “Hopefully, I can get another girlfriend!” Awww! As for Ashley’s alter-ego Lauren, she says she’ll be working hard all season: “Lauren’s got a plan. She’s in so many extra curricular activities she doesn’t have time for studying.” She jokingly added, “I hope she becomes a self made millionaire by the end of high school by accident.” Now that’d be a surprising turn of events!
Because we were so curious, we got some inside info about the chemistry between the cast members. When asked which actors would do best living together, Kevin and Ashley tossed around a few names. The final verdict? “Chord, Mark and Corey shoud all get a house together!” We can see that totally working out.
Kevin and Ashley were awesome guests this mornings On-Air With Ryan Seacrest, and they got us super excited to see the Glee 3-D The Concert Movie, out in theaters this Friday. We’re so going to go watch it! To listen to their full interview, play the audio below!
