Katie Holmes Was Terrified While Reading ‘Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark’ Script [AUDIO]
With her new horror flick, “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark”, out in theaters on Friday, Katie Holmes called into On-Air with Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday to talk about the new thriller as well as her own personal fears. Turns out, this Hollywood lady has some pretty interesting phobias.
Upon receiving the script, Katie said she was immediately enthralled with it. So much so, that she began to feel like she knew the characters, which resulted in her becoming dangerously engaged in the plotline: “When I read it, it was very scary and I actually started hearing noises in my house because the characters felt so real to me that I believed all of the scares. I indentified with all of these characters and I was thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, what would I do [in that situation]?! Oh my gosh, what was that?!’ It was so well written.”
Ryan decided to play a little game of “Would You Rather?” with the starlet by asking her which situation out of three she would prefer. Each situation involved one of her worst fears: Mice, raccoons, and public bathrooms. Katie could choose between these three 1. Carrying and hand feeding a pet mouse all day, everyday, everywhere 2. Camping out where there are five raccoons lingering near by or 3. Using a public bathroom barefoot for an entire week.
We thought Katie would for sure choose option #2, where she’d have the opportunity of holing herself up in a safe tent for a night but she surprised us all! “I would definitely rather do number one. I think I could get used to a mouse. There’s something about it being small! The other two sound really, yech, really bad!” Looks like we know what to get Katie for her next birthday…come here, mousie mouse!
If you have a thirst for thrill and want to find yourself sitting at the edge of your seat, be sure to check out ‘Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark’ in theaters this Friday!
