The 2011 Video Music Awards are a wrap!! If you missed them, don’t worry we have you covered. Here are the highlights.

Best female video of the year award went to Lady Gaga, who also opened the show with a performance as her alter ego, Jo Calderone in “You and I”. Gaga went wild in her performance and at one point stood on top of a piano singing. When she tried to get off she slipped and fell, if you were on the West Coast you missed the little mishap thanks to good ole’ fashion editing.

Speaking of alter-ego’s, Sasha Fierce, did not make an appearance last night however, Beyonce did! And with her she brought the biggest news of the night…she and husband Jay-Z are expecting their first child. Congrats B and J! Jay-Z and Kanye West performed “Otis” which currently has over 10 million hits on Vevo. While performing, a fan became a little too eager and hopped on stage with the rap titans, security was on it and carried him off quickly.

It was a big night for Britney Spears who was honored with the ‘MTV Video Vanguard’ award and also walked away with the moon man–‘Best Pop Video’ for “Till the World Ends.”
Other winners include Nicki Minaj, ‘Super Bass’, best hip-hop video and Katy Perry featuring Kanye West for best collaboration on “E.T.” Justin Beiber walked away with the best male video award for his hit “U Smile.”

The tribute was followed by Bruno Mars covering Winehouse’s “Valerie.”
