David Arquette Is Looking Forward To Getting To Know Chaz Bono [AUDIO]
Last night during the “Bachelor Pad” they announced the new “Dancing with The Stars” cast and new cast member David Arquette called into “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” on Tuesday to tell us what he is doing for his fortieth birthday, why he decided to do the “Dancing with The Stars,” and which other cast member he is looking forward to spending time with.
Joining David on the new season of “Dancing with the Stars” will be Chaz Bono. David tells us what he thinks about Chaz being on the show.
“I look forward to having some time where I can just sit and talk to him. Because Alexis, my sister, is transgender. I grew up with her and I saw some of the struggles that she had. So, I feel like we could have a great connection on that and I have a ton of respect for doing this, it is a big challenge for everyone and it’s puts you out there. I just think it’s great.”
In addition to getting to know Chaz, David told us what initially made him decide to take the dancing plunge. “I’ve always loved dancing. It is just such a great expression and it is such a positive way of having a good time.”
David says that he is really looking forward to the experience of the whole show, including the sparkles and the spray tan. He said that he is definitely a competitive person and he would like to win, but added that he loves all the people on the show and is really just looking forward to getting to know everyone better.
On September 8th, David will be marking a milestone with his 40th birthday. We asked him if he had any special plans for the big day.
“I am going to go to Cabo,” he exclaimed. “Aside from that, 40 days before my 40th birthday I went to Senegal, Africa with a group called Malaria No More. Malaria No More is an amazing charity, doing incredible work in Africa to eliminate Malaria.”
In lieu of gifts David is asking his friends to donate money to the charity to help provide bed nets for the people to combat the mosquitoes. The disease is caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through the bites of infected mosquitoes.
You can listen to the full interview below and catch David on the season premiere of “Dancing with The Stars,” on Monday September 19th at 8/7c on ABC.
