Eva Longoria Questions ‘Should I Be More Sad’ Over ‘Desperate Housewives Ending? [AUDIO]

Funny man, George Lopez, and “Desperate Housewives” starlet, Eva Longoria, chatted it up with “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” Thursday to talk about a variety of things, from the “ALMA Awards” to “Desperate Housewives” coming to an end to a popular drink choice for Latinos.

The two are set to the host the 2011 “NCLA ALMA Awards.” This award show has been happening over a decade now, and it’s really all for a good cause. Eva explains, “The ALMAs are produced by the NCLR, which are the National Council of La Raza. They do a lot of advocacy for the Latino community. So the ALMAs is just one extension that helps us show positive images of Latinos in television and music. It’s really just a celebratory night. It’s just another reason for all of us crazy Latinos to get together and drink Tequila.”

As soon as George hears the word Tequila, he immidiately swoops in saying, “Absolutely. She sent me a big bottle. And I tweeted a picture of me drinking the bottle of Don Julio 1942. Also, you want to remember that we want to celebrate. It’s not a competition. It’s a celebration. But also, this business is very hard. Just when you think you’ve made it, they can replace you with two episodes of ‘The Office.’”

Speaking of shows being replaced, how does Eva feel about “Desperate Housewives” ending after season eight airs in the Fall? She says, “Everyday, we’re like, ahhh! You know, we knew before it was announced because they talked to us about it, and we all kind of agreed, we wanted to go out on top instead of being on that show that people are like, ‘is that still on?’ So when I had that conversation, I was fine, and I was like, ‘Okay, cool. One more year. Great. Love it. Moving on. Doing other things.’ And then when it got pulled, everybody’s so sad, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God! Should I be more sad?’ And then I started getting sad.”

To hear Eva and George on a brighter note, watch them tonight hosting the ALMA Awards Friday night at 8/7c on NBC.
