Justin Bieber On Adopted Dog: I’m Not The Father! [VIDEO]
Justin Bieber visited “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” Wednesday to discuss his newly-released Christmas album “Under The Mistletoe,” and what he originally wanted to collaborate with Mariah Carey on. Justin addressed the pet adoption reports, and even prank called a local hair salon asking for ‘The Bieber’ hairstyle.
After getting Mariah Carey on board to record an original Christmas song, Justin revealed it was the new mother who volunteered to redo her chart-topping holiday powerhouse, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”
“I did not expect that at all, because that’s her classic,” said Justin, who was exactly eight-months-old when Mariah originally released the track in 1994. “I didn’t think she would want anyone touching it, but she was really down. It’s one of my favorite Christmas songs.”
After news spread quickly last week that Justin and girlfriend Selena Gomez had adopted a dog together, Justin clarified the reports of their alleged joint adoption.
“Its so funny because people keep talking about this dog, and I don’t even have a dog! I never got a new dog! I didn’t adopt a dog,” said Justin, who does have a family dog named Sam who lives with his grandparents in Stratford, Canada. So, who did adopt the dog?
“A friend of mine did,” Justin explained. “I don’t have anything to do with the dog. I think he’s a cute dog, but he’s not my dog! I love dogs, and I condone people adopting from the shelter.” Watch the video below to see Justin’s reaction.
Although Justin released a new Christmas album this week, the season-specific EP also serves as a method of ramping his fans up for the release of an all-new studio album.
“We’re right at the beginning of the album. I’m trying to work with different people, and try to find a new sound people aren’t used to hearing,” said Justin, who has released just one studio album to date which was split into two parts due to popular demand. “It’s like when Justin Timberlake broke free, and did ‘FutureSex/Love Sound.’ It was a different vibe. The acoustic guitar over the hard drums.”
Justin continued, “I’m surrounding myself with lots of different people. Usher is one of my mentors, so he’s going to be helping with the album. I want to work with a lot of different people like Drake and Kanye West. I want to work with people that most people haven’t heard of so we can make something completely new.”
What does Justin do in his down time? “I’m 17. I want people to know that I’m not just a singer that sings, and works all day,” said the singer who just wrapped the South American leg of his ‘My World’ tour. I have time off, and I go to my friends house. I go to Jaden [Smith's] house. We listen to music, skate his half pipe, and play video games. I do normal things.”
On par with his other product releases, Justin’s debut fragrance “Someday” shattered sales records, grossing over $3 million at Macy’s in under three weeks, cueing analysts to call it the most successful celebrity scent launch in history.
“I had faith in the fragrance because a girl wants something they know a guy’s gonna like,” the teen heart throb explained to Ryan. “I designed the smell. I like the smell on a girl. Girl’s are gonna want a fragrance a guy likes so I think there going to trust my judgement.”
Lastly, Justin prank called a hair salon asking for “The Bieber” hairstyle. The hilarity ensues when the receptionist doesn’t believe that both Justin Bieber and Ryan Seacrest have called her. Darlene dutifully reminds Justin to “bring in a picture” of Justin Bieber to ensure his haircut accurately resembles the teen pop star.
