Also Ryan Seacrest announced that ‘Stereo Hearts’ has finally overtaken Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ for the number one spot on the American Top 40 charts.
Travie hinted that for this years’ American Music Awards we can expect that Gym Class Heroes will “do something big production-wise. We are going to do something big and sexy.”
As host of American Top 40 Ryan Seacrest gave good news to the Gym Class Heroes frontman saying, “There has been this battle recently between Adele and Gym Class Heroes. This upcoming weekend Adele will be at number two.”
“Solidify! It’s even more amazing coming from you! I gotta call the family now. You just destroyed my phone bill,” Travie added.
Travie explains, “We kind of knew we had something special with ‘Stereo Hearts,‘ but it’s really taken off! I’m still trying to catch up with everything. When Adam [Levine] cut his vocals I was blown away with take after take. Everything was so effortless for him. When magic like that happens you let do it’s own thing.”
He continued, “‘Songs About Jane‘ came out was around the time we got signed, and went in to make our first record. We actually used ‘Songs About Jane‘ as a reference of what we wanted in terms of sound. So we’ve definitely been huge fans. When management asked us years ago who we wanted to collaborate with we said, ‘Adam from Maroon 5.’ It’s crazy how its come full circle.”
