Florence + the Machine Does Masterful Cover of Drake & Rihanna’s ‘Take Care’ [VIDEO]

It would seem that the indy rock stylings of Florence + The Machine couldn’t fall farther from the hip hop and pop inspired sounds of Drake and Rihanna, but worlds collided Friday when BBC Radio One released the English band’s cover of Drake’s “Take Care.”

Backed by her five piece band, a string sextet and a small chorus of background vocalists, front woman Florence Welch belts out a beautiful rendition of “Take Care’s” vocals that Rihanna made famous in the title track from Drake’s sophomore album of the same name.

“This is pretty exciting because this is a song by one of my — well two of my — well three of my absolute favorite artists,” Florence explains, talking about Drake, Rihanna and the song’s producer Jamie xx, a third of indie pop band The xx. “I hope I can do it justice.”
