Ryan Seacrest Gives Mother Of Two An Unforgettable KIISmas [AUDIO]
It’s that time again when “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” gives a little extra help to a family in need during the holiday season. Michelle from Temecula sent us an email to nominate someone that she felt was extra deserving of KIISmas.
In Michelle’s email, she writes, ‘
I would like to nominate my co-worker and now best friend Erica. This lady has a heart of gold, and I can honestly say that I am the person and mother I am today because of her. Over the past two years I have been going through a very tough divorce to say the least.
The night I found out that my ex-husband was living a double life, I called Erica to help comfort me and to help me see straight. She was shocked when I called her because we were not very good friends, and did not talk to each other outside of work.
She immediately took control of the situation and offered to help me in any way she could. Everyday there after, for the first couple months, Erica’s family opened up their home to me and my kids providing a loving and safe atmosphere. She gave me strength she gave me love but most of all she gave me the will power to keep pushing forward.
Well my divorce was final this past September and my life for the most part has settled down. I only wish I could say the same thing for Erica. She had lost her home during my divorce and is now renting. Her husband and she have fallen on hard times. They can hardly provide good warm meal for their family. They are unable to afford a Christmas tree, let alone presents. It breaks my heart that someone so giving, so willing to help someone she hardly knew now can’t give to her own family.
I feel like I owe them my life, my sanity and I want to repay for their love and generosity. I hope you find it in your heart to choose her….. She deserves it…
Erica, who has two children of her own, tries her best to get by. Her oldest boy, who turns eight in a few weeks, will be having his birthday party tomorrow. “Well, thanks to friends of ours, he’s getting a cell phone because a friend of ours had an extra phone that he could give us, and then, a Facebook page because it’s free,” explains Erica.
Her son wants a phone so that he can listen to music. Ryan decides to give him an iPod Touch and a $250 Toys R Us gift card. If that weren’t enough, Ryan decides to throw in $500 for groceries because you need yummy holiday food on Christmas day. Ryan also throws in a new Christmas tree, but the KIISmas giving doesn’t stop there. He wants Erica to pamper herself for being a great friend to Michelle, so he decides to throw in $1000 just for her.
