Blast To The Past In The New ‘Rock Of Ages’ Movie Trailer [VIDEO]
A rock n’ roll-inspired broadway show gets adapted into a feature film called “Rock Of Ages” which includes more than a handful of stars like Julianne Hough, Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, and Catherine Zeta-Jones to name a few! Check out the newly premiered movie trailer that gets us amped up for some classic 80’s rock n’ roll.
Directed by Adam Shankman, who also created the broadway musical-turned-movie “Hairspray,” returns with a story about Sherrie (played by Hough) and Drew (played by Diego Boneta) who hopelessly fall in love while they both chase their dreams in the entertainment capital — Hollywood. Set in 1987, this story gives us a fun and uplifting flashback throughout the challenges the two leads encounter.
When Shankman was asked about the filming process, he replied: “[It's] completely crazy…with all the dancing, and the singing. I just sit back and go ‘what am I making!?’” In addition, Cruise talks about how he plays the character Stacee Jaxx, a former lead singer for Arsenal who had fled to Latin America after criminal charges: “I’ve never done a musical, and I’m having a blast. I’ve always loved music. Theres nothing like trying to do something yourself to give you an even greater appreciation for what this art form is.”
With music by Def Leppard, Journey, Poison, Foreigner, and Twisted Sister, we will be hearing some classic rock tracks like “Don’t Stop Believin'” and “Can’t Fight This Feeling.” Check out the trailer up above. The movie is set to premiere in theaters June 1!
