Can Men & Women Be Just Friends? [VIDEO]
Can men and women really just be friends? During “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” Ryan used the research of two college students at Utah State University to debate whether platonic relationships can truly exist between the opposite sex.
The two male students, Jesse Budd and Patrick Romero, asked female and male students around campus if they think men and women can just be friends. Nearly every girl answered “yes” while almost every guy said “no.”
Interestingly, when the girls were asked whether the guy they claimed was simply a platonic friend would hook up with them or liked them, they all said yes! Likewise all of the guys said they would hook up with their girl friends.
Ellen, like the college girls, also thought that men and women could just be friends while Ryan agreed with the college guys that some feelings will always be there whether they’re acted upon or not.
We think this cliche sums it all up: “A guy and a girl can just be friends, but at one point or another they will fall for each other. Maybe temporarily, maybe at the wrong time, maybe too late, or maybe forever.” Aw. Take a look at the movie that best explores this dilemma, “When Harry Met Sally.” Harry and Sally tried to stay just friends but it took one fateful night of sleeping together and pretty soon everything had changed! Our advice is, if you want to strictly be friends with someone of the opposite sex then treat that person the same way you would your friends of the same sex.
