If Lana Del Rey Covered Rihanna, This Is What It Might Sound Like [VIDEO]

If YouTube has taught us anything, it’s not to underestimate the talent of young, ambitious singers and rising YouTube star Jayme Dee is a shining example of that.

In the latest offering from her YouTube channel, Dee dissects Rihanna‘s high-energy dance hit “We Found Love” and repackages it as a fantastically mellow folk ballad, accompanied by only her electric guitar. Stripping the song of Calvis Harris’ infectious beat, Dee channels a deeper emotion landing her soothing voice somewhere between indie newcomer Lana Del Rey and bluesy vet Norah Jones.

As YouTube commenter DanniLiang100 astutely points out, “Rihanna’s version is a sex song. [Jayme Dee's] version is a love song.”

In a little behind the scenes scoop from the video shoot, Dee and her friend accidentally started a fire outside her apartment, presumably courtesy of the gentle light shining through the window. Say, Jayme… that makes us think, Adele‘s “Set Fire To The Rain” sounds like an apropos follow up…
