Randy Jackson Tells Adam Levine ‘I Think You Misunderstood Me, Dawg’ [AUDIO]
Randy Jackson called in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” to respond to “The Voice” judge Adam Levine’s recent comments concerning “American Idol.” The Dawg also voices his opinion on Paula Abdul leaving “The X-Factor” and if Mariah Carey may replace her. Listen to the full interview here.
“The Voice” judge Adam Levine recently visited ‘The Ellen Show” and had terse words for Randy Jackson saying, “Shame on Randy Jackson for saying that, because he of anybody should know that if you’re in this business you need second, third, fourth, and fifth chances. So we love and embrace having that be a part of the show. It was an irresponsible thing to say.”
Randy responded to the controversy saying, “I’ve got mad love for Adam….but…their show is a different show then what we do. We go out and we search for the next would-be superstar. We’re looking for the person that no one knows about.” He continued, “Respectfully, Adam Levine we can all exist together and do it big… Adam, I think you misunderstood me, dawg.”
As the host of “American Idol” Ryan Seacrest reaffirmed, “The promise of each show is different…It’s all a good opportunity for artists who want to have a break through in music. Every one of these shows is a platform to do it. We love that.” (Listen to Randy response)
Randy commented on Paula leaving “The X-Factor” saying, “I’m sad to hear that…but she is amazingly talented.” He continued, “I hear that maybe her and Simon [Cowell] may go on to do something else down the road. I think it’s all good.”
As Mariah Carey‘s manager Randy commented on if we can expect her as an X-Factor judge, he says: “I don’t know. Right now, she’s working on her new record. She’s in the studio. She’s working with Jermaine [Dupri]. We’ve got alot of other things going on in her world. So you never really know. Let’s see what happens.”
