Ryan Reynolds called in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” on Friday to talk about his new movie “Safe House,” and how he gave co-star Denzel Washington a black eye, twice!

On How He Gave His Co-Star a Black Eye:
“I gave him a black eye. Not once, but twice. We were shooting a scene in the back of a car, driving 80 miles per hour, it was pretty uncontrolled circumstances, the car zigged and I zagged. I felt my head connect with something very, very dangerous in the backseat, I turned around and that very dangerous thing happened to be Denzel Washington. He was looking at me like he was about to turn me into a liquid.”

On Denzel Washington:
“He’s an intense guy, I mean they should literally tap him and use him as a worldwide energy source. That guy is burning something pretty bright inside of him. It was pretty interesting to be around for sure,” he tells us.

On His New Movie ‘Safe House':
“In the movie I play a house keeper in charge of one of these things [a safe house]. Most safe houses never see any action, ever. Then in walks one day a guy [Denzel Washington], a cross between Hannibal Lector and James Bond, a very dangerous guy, a sociopath. So, everyone is killed except he and I and I’m sort of stuck with him,” Ryan explains. Make sure to check out “Safe House,” in theaters now.

Also, we had heard that Ryan is a terrible liar because his voice will go up. Listen below to see if you think he is lying when asked if he cried during “The Notebook” and if he knew that Michelle Trachtenberg was “Gossip Girl.”
