Being a tribute in “The Hunger Games” would be terrifying, but you can contribute to “The Water Games” easily and it’s for a good cause! With the help of Willow Shields, who plays the young Primrose Everdeen in the movie, DoSomething.com and The Thirst Project are teaming up to run “The Water Games” and you can help raise awareness about the lack of clean water in third world countries.

There are over a billion people on the planet who don’t have access to clean drinking water. In Swaziland, people have to walk multiple hours each way to find and collect water. The Thirst Project is one of many nonprofit organizations committed to helping those billion people so they can survive and flourish.

For the “Water Games,” you register online and can walk alone or in a group, outside or inside, around a track or through the woods. All that matters is that you’re walking to raise awareness! If 15,000 teenagers walk, The Thirst Project will build a water well in Swaziland. Even better, there are also prizes! The walk with the most registered participants will receive the “Katniss Award” and 5 tickets to the Do Something Gala. Other awards include the Peeta Award, for the walk with the best community outreach, and the Gale Award for those who walk the farthest distance.

District 12’s Willow Shields is calling on you to make a difference in the world so that others don’t have to live like Katniss did in the books. Watch the video below and sign up at DoSomething.com.
