Watch Adam Lambert Perform Acoustic Version Of New Song ‘Never Close Our Eyes’ [VIDEO]
Adam Lambert is keeping fans happy while they wait for May 15th — when his sophomore album Trespassing will finally hit stores. He recently sang the new track “Never Close Our Eyes” at a festival. The acoustic version lets his voice shine but it’s easy to imagine a much heavier band behind the words.
“You know that I wish that this night would never be over / There’s plenty of time to sleep when we die / So let’s just stay awake until we grow older / If I had my way / We’d never close our eyes,” sings Adam in the powerhouse voice that made him an “American Idol” favorite. The song was actually penned by Grammy-winner Bruno Mars.
Below the acoustic video, you can hear a snippet of the titular track “Trespassing,” which is complete with a hard rock beat and hand-clapping. Adam sings: “Well I was walking for some time / When I came across this sign / Saying who are you and where are you from / We don’t like when visitors come.”
The song sounds like Adam is angry at something — pop culture, or maybe the music industry — for not fully accepting him. But as far as we can tell, people are loving Adam and all the new tracks we’ve been hearing lately, including these two songs.
