Adam Levine Addresses Rumors That He And Justin Bieber Are Forming A Super Group [AUDIO]
Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine called in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” on Monday to chat about the group’s upcoming album Overexposed, this season of “The Voice,” his guest starring role on “American Horror Story,” and addresses the rumors that he is forming a “Super Group” with Justin Bieber.
On The Super Group Rumor:
Rumors started swirling when tweets surfaced that suggested Adam, Justin Bieber, Justin’s bodyguard Kenny, and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tetter may be forming a Super Group. Adam set the record straight saying, “We were in the same studio at the same time and I know those guys, we screw around and play video games and stuff. We were just basically screwing around and being silly in front of millions of people. So, clearly there was a misunderstanding of what was going on. The fact of the matter is nothing.”
On Guest Starring on “American Horror Story”:
“Yeah, it is pretty much happening,” Adam tells us. “I don’t know how much I can divulge, because Ryan [Murphy] keeps it very under wraps. It’s going to be fun and I told him I didn’t really know what I was doing, but he didn’t seem to care. So, I’m going to go and just try to be acting. I think I’m going to be playing myself, so hopefully it will be easy.”
On This Season of “The Voice”:
“We’re about to start the live rounds, so it’s about to get serious,” he says. “I really have enjoyed the season a lot and I’ve actually watched it. I didn’t watch it last season, because it makes me uncomfortable to watch myself. I’m not as uncomfortable with it now, so I watched it more. I just wanted see what was going with everything, just to see how they were putting it all together and it’s really great. I’m happy.”
On Maroon 5’s Upcoming Album Overexposed:
“We’ve never had an record with a silly kind of cheeky title, which is kind of cool. Record names are always like funny, stupid, pretentious, sounding names. I like the fact that it’s kind of kind of thrown away, it’s cool,” Adam says. “It sounds really awesome. It sounds different, I think. There’s a lot of different flavors and it’s kind of our popiest record, but it’s also not and basically is. Is that convoluted enough?”
Adam continues, “‘The Voice’ really changed a lot about people finding out who we were and it did kind of introduce us to another generation, which was cool and makes us feel old, but in an awesome way. It’s great. We did a lot of co-writing with amazing writers and producers and things like that, which we never have done before this record. So, it was this really awesome collaboration process, which was cool. I’ve never been more excited.”
Maroon 5’s new album Overexposed is scheduled to drop June 26th.
