After releasing their single “Payphone” Monday morning, Maroon 5 and Wiz Khalifa uploaded a lyric video to YouTube which features a full-blown comic spread!

The story kicks off with a cartooned-out Adam Levine burning up in blue flames and frustrated with his recent breakup. He battles zombies and robbers and later ends up making the newspaper. The character constantly flashes back to the better times of the relationship while the lyric word bubbles help us understand the meaning behind the ballad.

The animated Wiz Khalifa chimes in later and yes, even his character is full of tattoos. There’s no doubt that this lyric video is meant to give us a laugh or two, but it doesn’t stop us for feeling for the guys!

Look out for Overexposed dropping June 26th.
