When a mysterious killer begins reenacting the murders from Poe’s short stories, like “The Tell-Tale Heart” and “The Pit and the Pendulum,” the writer is sucked into solving the crimes even while someone close to him is in danger. In new clips from the film, the killer tortures an older man with a swinging axe, and a young woman is locked under the floorboards and taunted.
