You probably know Foster the People from their 2011 smash hit “Pumped Up Kicks” because it was featured on every TV show, commercial and radio station for weeks on end. But don’t write the band off as a one-hit wonder just yet, they’ve hit gold again with “Houdini,” and there’s a great video for it that will surely get people buzzing.

In the video, Mark Foster, Mark Pontius and Cubbie Fink are killed when a beam falls on them during rehearsal. Luckily, a sinister man and his crew of puppeteers and robot engineers slowly get the band rigged up so they can reanimate them for a concert.

By the end of the video, Foster the People looks more like the Backstreet Boys circa 1998, but no one at the concert knows they’re dead! Although it’s not directly addressed, the video may hint that the band doesn’t love the pop groups topping the music charts recently.

What do you think of the video? Do you think the group is lashing out against boy bands?
