“Starships” begins with a seemingly secluded civilization of peaceful islanders lazily sunbathing before a spaceship starship appears over them emitting a strangely alluring sound. Suddenly a bikini-clad Nicki beams down to wreak musical havoc on the inhabitants causing them to come to life and dance like they never have before.

Fans are treated to several colorful and barely there outfits by Nicki as she leads the formerly lackadaisical natives in dancing through bursts of colorful smoke and paint. All coming to a head in one magnificent neon light show where we remember why we love Nicky. She knows how to make a catchy tune look damn good in neon.

Starships” has taken full control of the Billboard charts, making it in the Top 100 for two whole months now. Unlike her promo singles, “Roman Holiday” and “Stupid H*e,” “Starships” is the official lead single off Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. The album debuted at #1 just a few weeks ago and there’s no doubt this hip-hop Barbie is on a roll.

Nicki warned the public ahead of time, telling U.K.’s Capital FM, “It may be too saucy for TV,” and well, in that hot pink bikini and green wig, we can definitely understand why she said so! Nicki tells MTV News she is proud to be imitated by the public. “I guess I am pop culture, just because what I’m doing seems to be popular,” she said. “When people want to do what you’re doing, it’s kinda popular…I don’t ask girls to wear pink hair; they just do it.”
