Kevin Jonas To Star in Ryan Seacrest-Produced Reality Show ‘Married To Jonas’
In a long-awaited leap into reality television, Jonas Brothers fans will get to know one third of the trio very well in a newly-announced show coming to E! this Summer.
Kevin Jonas, the eldest of the three, and his wife Danielle Jonas will be featured in Ryan Seacrest Productions‘ new docu-series “Married To Jonas” set to debut Sunday, August 19. Since the couple tied the knot in 2009, it seems Jonas Brothers fans have been begging the reality TV gods for a show, and finally Ryan (a mere mortal) has answered the call.
“I vividly recall believing from the very first time that I met them that the Jonas Brothers would, without a doubt, become a worldwide cultural sensation,” said Ryan, who has supported the Jonas’ music for years on radio and television. “Given their tremendous musical talents, kindness, humor and good looks, their eventual stardom wasn’t a surprise to anyone. When we learned that Dani married Kevin, our production team became curious about what life would be like for a young bride entering the excitement, and sometimes chaos, of a pop star’s life.”
The 10-episode first season will follow the couple as they settle into their New Jersey home and attempt suburban normalcy all while the Jonas Brothers prepare to record their first new album in three years.
“Looking through the lens of young love, the show will examine the ups and downs of Dani and Kevin’s marriage, against the backdrop of their contrasting family cultures, traditions and individual careers,” explained Ryan of the underlying themes in the show. But what’s a good New Jersey-based show without Italians? Cue Danielle’s outspoken yet lovable family who often find themselves at odds with the Hollywood ways of the Jonas crew.
Family is a huge part of Kevin and Dani’s world, and their parents and siblings are constant figures in their life together. For Dani, marrying into music royalty meant officially becoming a Jonas, joining brother-in-laws Joe, Nick, youngest brother Frankie, father Kevin Sr., who manages the band, and mom Denise, the loving matriarch of the Jonas empire. Kevin, on the other hand, married into a loud and loving Italian family led by Danielle’s over-protective father Bucky, her soft-spoken mother Angela, her eldest sister and best friend Dina, her teenaged sister Katie, and her brother Mikey, an aspiring singer-songwriter who is working with his megastar brother-in-law to develop his career.
