Former Gold Medal Olympian Bruce Jenner Adds ‘Father Of The Year’ To His Mantle [PHOTO]
What’s harder—winning a gold medal or raising the Kardashian clan?
Esquire Magazine has named Bruce the “Father of the Year” in its upcoming June issue. The magazine profiles the Olympian, reality star, and father who prefers golfing and playing with his toy helicopters then starting drama in front of the cameras.
Bruce first received national attention for his athletic skills at the Olympic Games. After finishing tenth place in the decathlon at the 1972 Munich summer games, Bruce vowed to work as hard as he could in order to win a medal the next time around. His training paid off when he took home the gold in the 1976 summer games in Montreal.
Today, Bruce is known as the laid-back patriarch who is often oblivious to the family drama. Many viewers believe wife Kris Jenner wears the pants in the relationship while Bruce sometimes gets ignored.
In the season seven premiere of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” this past Sunday, Bruce was so fed up with the lack of attention he was receiving from his family that he secretly moved into Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom’s house when they were in Dallas. Luckily, the family got the message and Bruce returned home.
Drama aside, the Kardashian sisters have nothing but good things to say about their dad.
“He’s just such a good person with such a good heart,” Khloe tells Esquire. Kim Kardashian adds, “He is such a strong man.”
Tune in for an all new “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” Sunday night at 9PM PST on E!.
