Summer Jam Sparks Summer Feud with Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and DJ Funk Flex
Turmoil sparked after one of the radio stations personalities, Peter Rosenberg, used the Summer Jam stage to call out both artists and insist they don’t deliver real music. When DJ Funk Flex filled in for the missing rap stars he insinuated both Minaj and Weezy were commercial rappers and “lost the streets”.
Obviously offended by the comments, Lil Wayne took to Twitter to hash it out:
Young Money ain’t doing summer jam.

Creating a whirlwind of tweets in response to the sizzling drama, Lil Wayne definitely made the executive decision, as fellow rapper Nicki Minaj tweeted:
I go above and beyond for my fans. But won’t ever go against wayne’s word. What he says, goes.

If there is anything we know about Weezy it’s that he certainly does not tolerate disrespect of any kind, putting his foot down when he feels offened. Despite the prefacing feud, the Summer Jam went on, but there is no doubt disappointment was obviously a lingering cloud amongst some concert goers.
To clear up some of the steam off the hotheaded situation, Nicki Minaj is set to call into Hot 97 tonight and talk on Funk Flex’s radio show.
