Cimorelli Continues To Climb The Charts & Is Nominated For A Teen Choice Award
There’s no stopping the powerhouse that is Cimorelli and the world of social media is taking notice! The six sisters from Sacramento have had a great past few weeks including winning our Justin Bieber cover contest, hitting 200 million views on their YouTube account, and trended No. 2 worldwide for their meet up with friend, Ryan Beatty. With a track record this impressive they can’t possibly do better, right? Wrong. Today, they trended worldwide again, hit No. 3 on Billboard‘s Social chart, and were nominated for a coveted Teen Choice Award! [Vote]
Cimorelli fans proved the true power of the Twitter campaign. Back in April, they started the trend with the #CimorelliforTCA and now, the trend changed to #VoteCimorelliTCA. They have been nominated for Choice Web Star along with Beatty and Sophia Grace and Rosie of “Ellen” fame. In addition to the nom, they made history by passing Justin Bieber in Billboard’s Social 50 Chart, which is determined by a formula blending artist’s weekly additions of friends, fans, and followers along with artist page views and weekly song plays. They are ranked right behind megastars Adele and Rihanna.
Cimorelli has made some notable covers like One Direction‘s “What Makes You Beautiful,” Adele‘s “Someone Like You,” Kelly Clarkson‘s “Stronger,” and of course, Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe.” The Cimorelli clan consists of more than just the 6 sisters; the 7 other family members are huge players in their rise to fame. They even uprooted themselves to Malibu to chase after their dream! Props to the Cimorelli family for taking risks; it has definitely paid off!
