Derek Hough Spills Details About The New Addition To His Family [AUDIO]
Derek Hough called in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” on Monday to chat about the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars,” his dance partner Shawn Johnson, and tells us about the new addition to his family.
Derek’s New Companion:
“It’s quite furry…it’s my new dog and he’s a dude,” Derek tells us. “I adopted him. I took him for a walk at the shelter…It was great. It was one of those feelings where you just kind of knew he’s your dog. When people say that I never quite understood what they meant until now.” So, what kind of a dog did Derek adopt? “He’s a Shepard mix. He’s so smart too, he can sit, toss, stay, down.” But what about the potty training? “It’s good, except for he likes to drop the deuces downstairs. The good thing, which I like about it is he goes in the exact same spot every single time. So, I’m like: ‘Well, if you’re going to do it, that’s the way to do it.'”
On Dance Partner Shawn Johnson:
“I was such a huge fan of this Olympics. I was watching every single night and really into it. So, to be able to dance with her, she’s an Olympic athlete, is pretty amazing. I was kind of geeking out a little bit even though I knew her before, but I had a whole new respect for her,” Derek says.
On Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars:
“I do feel like pressure or expectations to make sure I give her good routines and do a good job,” he says. “But everybody this season’s going to be really good, their going to be bringing their A game, it’s really good teams…and really it’s up to America who they’re going to fall in love with again or not. It’s going to be interesting.”
“Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” premiers September 24th at 8/7c on ABC.
