It’s 3 am, and we’ve been lonely without Matchbox 20.

From their timeless lyrics, to Rob Thomas‘ undeniable smoothness, Matchbox 20 has definitely made our playlists of feel good songs.

Now Matchbox 20 is coming back to our sound waves with North, their first studio album in a decade. The record was released on Tuesday, marking a new direction for the band. It’s already getting great reviews!

Lead singer Rob Thomas has collaborated with several artists as a soloist, such as Santana and INXS. However, the Matchbox 20 guys haven’t had many guests on their own records.

Who would Rob want Matchbox to record with? On Air with Ryan Seacrest asked him, and this is what he had to say:

“It seems like that has come up a lot in conversation with us. I know Snoop Dogg came up a couple times on this record…bringing in a rapper to do a verse, just because we’ve never done it. So, aesthetically that might be interesting,” Rob explains.

As unexpected it is, we’d sure love to see Rob and the guys of Matchbox 20 blow our minds with a collaboration with the infamous Snoop. Who knows, maybe Rob will even rap verse? Rappin’ Rob sounds good to us. We can’t wait to see what this band has in store with their new record!
